An Example Guide

The items below are just examples of what equipment you might need.

There are quite a few options and combinations, so please shop around to see what suits your needs.

However, we highly recommend you purchase items with brass fittings/clips as they are more robust and do not rust.

Bungees are also highly recommended as they reduce the risk of strain/injury to yourself or your dog.

Euro DC Harness - £36.99

Different colours and sizes available

A popular harness used by a lot of SSC members. Directs all pulling force to the shoulders and chest (away from the neck), hugging the body without restricting lung capacity or leg movement (without the material over your dog's back).

SASS Walking Belt - £35.50

Different colours and sizes available

Bungee shock absorber to take the strain. Made from Cordura covered foam padding and 2 inch (5cm) wide black webbing. Locking karabiner to attach several leads. Walk several dogs at once and have hands free.

Brass Double Dog Bungee - £25

Different colours available

The bungee in this lead is knotted and stitched in place to avoid the bungee cord coming undone that some named brands suffer from as a fault. Simply attach to either your walking belt or around your bike headstock with the use of a carabiner through the handle.
